The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is always looking for new ways to help its members research their ancestors and document their family history. The Church has signed a new agreement with Storied that allows Latter-day Saints greater access to Storied.com through a member subscription.

Using Storied.com, a comprehensive family history platform, Latter-day Saints will be able to capture family stories in new, engaging ways, explore a vast small-town newspaper archive, search historical records, and share their discoveries with loved ones. Integrations with FamilySearch, a nonprofit sponsored by the Church, will also be available (see below).

Kendall Hulet, CEO of Storied, is excited about this new agreement and what it means to members of the Church. “Stories have an incredible ability to bridge generations and strengthen family bonds, creating a lasting impact on the world. By combining our research and storytelling platform with family trees, historical records, and newspaper collections, we offer a powerful tool for discovery and connection, seamlessly integrating with FamilySearch for a richer, more meaningful family history experience.”

How to Access a Member Subscription to Storied and What Is Included

Latter-day Saints can access their member subscription for free by going to the Storied Access page and signing in with their FamilySearch account.

Read on for a more detailed look at what Storied features are included in member subscriptions.

Newspapers and Historical Records

A member subscription will grant access to over 1 billion historical records and a vast online newspaper collection, helping you to unlock insights about your ancestors and bring the past to life.

Build Your Family Narrative

Storied helps you build captivating stories out of treasured photos, memories, and audio files. Easily import your FamilySearch memories and compile them into engaging depictions that bring your family history to life. The interactive Storied feed enables you to share and uncover these meaningful discoveries and interact with others through comments and likes, fostering connections with friends and loved ones.

Personal Family Tree

Dive into your ancestry with powerful family history tools that let you build your family tree from scratch on Storied, upload it using a GEDCOM file, or, best of all, import it directly from FamilySearch. This allows you to continue leveraging your tree on FamilySearch while maintaining access to a personal, private tree on Storied. Storied will search its extensive records and newspaper archives, finding new hints, matches, and stories you may have never seen, and help you add them to your family tree.

Maintain Ties with Those Who Matter Most

Connect with loved ones on Storied, in private and with secure groups. Through these groups, you can collaborate and share stories, photos, and more with those who matter most. You can also invite other close individuals, beyond just blood relatives, to share your family story, enriching your history with broader perspectives.

Go Beyond the Tree with Relationships

Some of the most meaningful relationships in your life are with people not found in your family tree. With traditional family history sites, nonfamilial relationships have no place. Storied allows you to add people and pets to your tree even when no familial connection exists.

Preserve Your Legacy on the Go

The Storied app (android and Apple) helps you take your research and stories on the go. Storied’s user-friendly mobile features make it easy to document stories as they happen. Wherever you are, you can preserve your legacy for future generations.
