Expo Hall

The RootsTech Expo Hall is like a small village inside the Salt Palace Convention Center, where every booth, every table, every display is dedicated to family history. This is the perfect place to learn about a new innovation, try a new product, or ask your question to a company representative. But don’t feel left out if you’re planning to participate online! You can do many of the same things in the virtual expo hall on RootsTech.org.

Inspiring Main Stage Presentations

Everyone has a favorite thing about RootsTech. But the Main Stage is undoubtedly the conference’s biggest attraction. This is where keynote speakers share how heritage, connection, and family discovery have shaped their lives. With thousands of attendees filling the auditorium—and hundreds of thousands more joining online—the feeling during a Main Stage presentation is always inspiring. This is where you hear the stories that stick with you, the kind that make you want to dig deeper into your own family history and share what you find with loved ones.

Relatives at RootsTech

With so many people participating in RootsTech, online and in person, you’re bound to be related to at least a few of them, right? If you're joining the conference in person, select the option in your RootsTech app titled "Relatives at RootsTech," and find out! If you are joining online, go to rootstech.org/connect. The activity scans your family tree and quickly compares it with other people at the conference who have enabled the experience. Then it tells you where your branches cross and how you’re related.

You’ll be surprised how many 4th and 5th cousins forgot to tell you they were coming and are now in the very same building as you. Thanks to Relatives at RootsTech and the FamilySearch Family Tree, you may discover and connect with relatives from all around the world!
