Family name cards for doing proxy temple ordinances have a newly updated design. Temple patrons who want to have cards returned to them can now check a box to indicate their preference. This updated family name card design also removes the personal address of the temple patron from the card to protect privacy.
As mentioned in a recent article, family name cards are not automatically returned to patrons but can be requested. Previously, this request was made by visiting the temple office in person after the ordinance was completed, but this update to the cards gives an easier, more timely way to request that return.
Be aware that even with the new check box, patrons picking up cards may have some wait time, to allow temple workers to ensure the ordinance has been properly recorded. Cards must be picked up on the same day the ordinance is completed. Patrons who want to track completed temple ordinances can see and even print their Completed list in the Temple tab on FamilySearch.org without needing a card returned.
