That is why this year’s theme for RootsTech is Uniting—which ties into a major element of RootsTech: Connection. RootsTech provides us with opportunities to connect with those around us, as well as those far away. RootsTech is a space that allows innovators, family history lovers, cultures, communities, and of course, families, to connect and unite with each other.

We have talked to past RootsTech attendees to hear what they have to say about the conference and the element of connection they have felt there.
Rachel, from Ogden, Utah, says, “The first time I went to RootsTech, I was hesitant…. I have to tell you that I was blown away by the experience, and since then RootsTech has become a really important part of my life.” What Rachel loves most about RootsTech is that she has learned the value and importance of storytelling and connectivity. “There is this power and connection that I feel at RootsTech that I really have a hard time finding in other places. It’s like a melting pot of all different kinds of people, ways of life, walks of life, but we’re all there with a common goal … and when we are connected for a cause like that, there’s magic.”
The element of connection carries on as Elizabeth, from Lompoc, California, says, “To me, the Exhibit Hall, just seems to be the heartbeat of RootsTech. It’s the one place where everyone seems to go to connect.”
We are very excited to be back in the Salt Palace, after 2 years of a virtual conference, and experience the energy and connection of the Expo Hall. Of course, we will also be offering a virtual Expo Hall for all of those joining us virtually. Elizabeth goes on to share her feelings that, “Everyone you meet at RootsTech is already a part of your tribe … and that’s a really special connection.”
