The information found on the Church Directory of Organizations and Leaders (CDOL) is used to help identify specific family history centers and to enable transactions to take place quickly, easily and with no mistakes. It is important to make sure that all information that appears in CDOL for your center is correct and up-to-date. Please take a moment to log into CDOL and double check the information that appears for your family history center. If it is not current or if something is missing, please request an update immediately.
To find information about your center, people can search two online resources:
- Find a Family History Center option found in two places on FamilySearch.org:
- Under the Get Help drop-down menu and then the link Find Local Help.
- Near the bottom of the home page and under the link Family History Centers-Find a Center.
The Church Directory of Organizations and Leaders, known as CDOL, is the central database for information about all Church facilities, including family history centers.
- The information that appears in Find a Family History Center comes directly from CDOL. You can access CDOL to enter and update your center’s days and hours of service and to enter information that visitors need to know when they come to your center. If other information in CDOL about your center needs an update, such as the address or phone number, call Family History Center Support at 1-866-406-1830.
- With a recent change to the Research Wiki that is now underway, the pages for counties in the United States will include a link to family history center information that is displayed in Find a Family History Center. Click here to see an example a county page that includes the new link.
By keeping your information current in CDOL, you will ensure that people will see accurate information about your center both in Find a Family History Center and in the county pages in the Research Wiki.
In addition, the hours of service information you enter in CDOL updates Family History Department family history center administration databases, helping us to administer centers effectively.
