For Center Directors: Newly Revised Director Training Page

FHC Director Page

Welcome to the newly revised family history center director training page! You will still find this page on this path on LDS.org: Resources>Family History Callings>Training for My Calling. What you see when you open the page is entirely new! There are new training videos and links to updated resources. All the new content is aimed at helping you fulfill your calling better as a family history center director.

First, you will find four new short training videos specifically addressing your needs as a family history center director. The people in these videos are real family history center directors and priesthood leaders with real solutions to the issues they face in their callings. Next to these videos is a quick link to the family history center operations guide. There are also links to Spanish and French versions of the guide that will be especially useful if your center is in North America and uses Spanish or French as its primary language.

To further define the vision and direction of family history centers, three full-length videos are presented by Elder Dennis Brimhall and Suzanne Curley. Elder Brimhall’s presentation was originally made at the 2013 family history center fall open house. Suzanne’s presentations were part of the family history center track of RootsTech. Each of these videos will help you understand how you can create a family history center of the future, where families and youth can add new dimensions to the success of your center.

Updated links to reports and often-used resources are prominent in the right column. A few subjects may not yet have a link to a new page. These links are waiting for approved pages or catalogs. The links will be updated as soon as the material becomes available. At this time, the page is only available in English, and translation for the page is already in process.

Farther down the center of the page are the basic guides for new family history center directors and an overview of the purpose of family history centers. Last, you will find new training lessons for using the premium websites on the family history center portal. These are animated lessons and include enjoyable games to help you learn about the amazing resources on the portal. These new lessons can add some fun when you train staff or patrons about the portal websites.

Our hope is that this streamlined page will give you quick and accurate access to the resources you need. We have great appreciation for your devotion to your staff and patrons and for all you do as family history center directors. Click your way through the new additional resources. Come and take a look at the family history center director training!
