FamilySearch Photos and Stories Update

FamilySearch Photos and Stories continues to evolve, offering new and exciting features to preserve and share your priceless family photos. Here’s a roundup of the latest updates:

“Related People” pull-down

A new pull-down menu, located next to the Share Person pull-down, offers a new view of the linked people within one generation of the person listed on the person page, including parents, siblings, and children. This new feature tool makes it easy way to:

  • Navigate between the photo pages of closely related family members.
  • Make connections with others that may have uploaded photos of your family.
  • See which photos among the immediate family members may be missing.

Comment notification

One of the ways Photos and Stories is collaborative is through the use of the Comment feature. Found on both the photo and story pages, this tool allows you and others to clarify or add details to the image or story. Keeping track of comments added to any one submission can be difficult. To help, we have added a notification system to alert you when a comment is added to any of the photos and stories you have published. The notification will contain the name of the commenter, the comment, and a link to quickly visit the comment on the website.

Name editing

There has been a subtle update to the way you edit an album name or a person’s name on the photos page. If you want or need to make a change to the name, simply click it. The name becomes an editable field. Once you have made the change, select the check mark to accept it or the “x” to cancel it.
