More than 149,000 sources added to Family Tree in September
One of the great features of Family Tree on FamilySearch.org is the ability to add sources to events in ancestors’ lives. In September, more than 149,000 sources were added to Family Tree, bringing the number of sources in Family Tree to nearly 600,000!
Sources are important in family history because they allow you to answer the question, to yourself and others, “where did this information come from?” This is a solid research practice and a practical one as well—you will always know where to find that fact should you need to locate it again.
Have you added sources to Family Tree? Do you know how? Adding sources is easy and can be done when you find a record on FamilySearch.org or from any individual’s personal page in Family Tree. The Family Tree training site has an informative video that walks you through the process. This training will help make it easy for you to add sources to ancestors. Log in, and give it a try today.
