RootsTech 2023 is on its way, and we have some exciting things in store for you in the Expo Hall. This year's event features both a virtual (online) and in-person Expo Hall (at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah) this year.
The Expo Hall at RootsTech is a place for you to find solutions and inspiration for your genealogy journey. Companies and organizations from around the world come together to show what they have to offer people interested in family history and in connecting with their family.
What to Expect in the RootsTech 2023 Expo Hall
The RootsTech Expo Hall is a favorite feature for virtual and in-person attendees. It flows with energy, excitement, discovery, and learning and gives attendees access to our amazing genealogical professionals and their incredible products and services. Here are some of the things that will be new at the Expo Hall in RootsTech 2023.
Live Social Media Events and Product Demonstrations
In 2023, Expo Hall attendees will enjoy live social media events facilitated by our sponsors. Show sponsors will also teach Expo Hall classes on how to use their products and services for more personal discoveries.

Virtual Viewing and Discussion Areas in the In-Person Expo Hall
Virtual RootsTech attendees have the benefit of viewing the on-demand classes at any time and participating in live conference chats. New in 2023, the in-person Expo Hall will have comfortable "virtual viewing" areas, where attendees can gather to watch and discuss their favorite online content. This area will be a great place to meet new people who have similar interests. For example, attendees will be able to propose scheduled discussions on topics of interest, such as how to read a German civil registration document. Anyone interested would then be able to join for that discussion.
The Latest Innovations
Many attendees want to be the first to see what’s new. If that’s you, you will want to check out both the Expo Hall and the Innovation and Tech Forum. The forum will happen in-person on 2 March, at 1:30 p.m. (MST) and will be streamed live on the RootsTech site. Developers will demonstrate new innovations and concepts in the industry that address user needs, solve problems, or create fun, new discovery experiences.
Here are some anticipated innovations that will be featured from start-up companies and also big-name RootsTech sponsors in the genealogy industry:
