Another Look at the RootsTech Experience

When it comes to mastering the use of technology in your family history research, there's nothing like a hands-on full immersion experience. While there are a number of genealogy conferences available throughout the country and around the world, the RootsTech conference which debuted in 2011 stood out from the crowd as a place to learn, explore, and get your hands dirty.

In this installment of my series on videos I produced at RootsTech 2011, I want to give you an up-close look at some of the innovative instructors who filled the classrooms. These folks know their stuff, and I was happy to get some face time with them to dig a little deeper in to the topics they taught.

First up is the energetic and inspirational Curt Witcher, Manager of the Genealogy Department at the renowned Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana.   Curt and I chatted about the future of genealogy as it converges with technology, and the RootsTech experience. Are all the records online? Will they be some day? And how will that impact libraries? Watch to find out:

Next, FamilySearch Programmer Ty Hatch explored how mobile technology strategies can benefit the genealogist and what the future may hold.

The 2012 RootsTech Conference will be held February 2-4 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, UT.
