American Ancestors Training Resources

Guy in Chair

On the AmericanAncestors website are many great training videos, archived webinars, and other broadcasts by the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS). These include several classes on what is available at the NEHGS library, the best ways to use the resources at the library, classes on various record types, and more. The presenters are experts, and many are nationally known.

Some of the archived webinars are: How to Apply to Lineage Societies, Find Your Union Civil War Ancestor at NEHGS, Irish Resources at NEHGS, Maximize Your AmericanAncestors.org Search Results, etc.

In addition to the archived webinars, the site also has video lectures and how-to videos, all on the beginner level, such as Getting Started, Irish Genealogy, and Print Records on AmericanAncestors.org.

Many subject guides can be printed to help you as you search for your family. These include Getting Organized, Using AmericanAncestors.org, Genealogical Software, 17th Century New England Research, English Genealogy, and more.
