In the First Ancestor view, the person of focus should have at least one first ancestor. You can remove a first ancestor if the wrong person is listed.
If the person of focus is connected to more than one first ancestor, you can display a different first ancestor instead of removing the one currently displayed.
Steps (website)
- In Family Tree, on the right side of the screen, click the caret to select the First Ancestor view.
- Click the Options icon

- In the panel on the right, click Add/Edit First Ancestor.
- In the pop-up window, click Remove First Ancestor.
- Click the trash can icon to confirm that you want to remove that ancestor as the first ancestor.
- Then, click Remove. The ancestor will be successfully removed.
