How do I view my relationship to a person in Memories?

Share

The relationship viewer calculates your relationship to a person in Family Tree and displays a chart showing the direct relatives between you and the person. At the top of the chart, you can see your relationship, such as My Grandmother or My First Cousin. If no relationship was found, the viewer displays “Relationship Unknown.”

Steps (website)

  1. Sign in to FamilySearch, and click Memories.
  2. Click People.
  3. Find the person whose relationship you want to see.
  4. At the bottom of the thumbnail for the person, click View My Relationship. A chart appears to show how you are related to that person.
  5. To zoom in or out, click + or -.
  6. To display their person page in Family Tree, click X to exit out of the relationship viewer.
  7. Click the person's name.

Steps (mobile app)

The Family Tree and Memories mobile apps lack a relationship viewer for memories. Please use the website instead.

Steps (Family Tree Lite)

Family Tree Lite does not show either Memories or your relationship to a person. Please use the website instead.
