The 2018 BYU Conference on Family History and Genealogy

The 50th annual BYU Conference on Family History and Genealogy was held on July 31–August 3, 2018 at the BYU Conference Center in Provo, Utah. It offered more than 100 classes, including a free track on Friday for Temple and Family History Consultants, allowing participants to gain new skills and helpful information.

Offered classes included those covering the following topics:

  • Online Genealogy and Technology
  • DNA Research
  • Organizing, Preserving, and Sharing Photos
  • ICAPGen ®
  • US Research
  • Methodology, Records, and Resources
  • International Research
  • Scandinavian Research

Keynote speakers for the 2018 BYU Genealogy Conference included the following:

  • Elder Bradley D. Foster (Executive Director, FamilySearch)
  • David E. Rencher (Chief Genealogical Officer, FamilySearch)
  • Curt B. Witcher (This I Believe: The Urgent Need to Record Living History)
  • Todd Hansen (BYU’s The Story Trek)
