Land processioning was required to be done about every fourth year. The land owner or owners would ride or walk their property boundaries with the county surveyor who would redraw any disputed lines. The land description and who was present at the processioning were usually recorded with the County Court. Sometimes the court would have to settle any disputes.

The register of free persons of "colour" gives name, age, physical description, and whether born free or emancipated.
