Until 1541, the Diocese included all Stafforshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, and parts of Salop, Warwickshire, Lancashire, Flintshire, Denbighshire and Westmoreland. The creation of the See of Chester in 1540 removed all Cheshire and the parts of Lancashire, Westmoreland, Flintshire and Denbighshire.

Microfilm of original records in the District Probate Court, Birmingham, England. Original records have been transfered to the Lichfield Joint Record Office, Lichfield, England.
