Henri Cabanis was born in France ca. 1675. He and his first wife, Marie, immigrated to Virginia in 1700. Henri later died in Westover Parish, Prince George County, Virginia before 1720. His son, Henry (ca. 1699-ca. 1770) married Jane Allen ca. 1725 and later died in Mecklenburg County, Virginia.
Also includes descendants of Isaac Chabanas (ca. 1655-1722), born in France, died probably in Hyde Precinct, North Carolina. He was married to (1) Angelique Lombard and (2) Catherine Bomard.
Descendants of the families lived in North Carolina, Virginia, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Iowa, and elsewhere.
Includes Anderson, Vestal, Osborn, Fickle, Hodson, and related families, as well as those with variant spellings of Cavinis.
Includes interspersed manuscript additions and corrections.
