Wills, 1756-1930

Jamaica. Supreme Court (Main Author)
Manuscript/Manuscript on Film
Salt Lake City, Utah : Filmed by the Genealogical Society of Utah, 1996
6 microfilm reels ; 16 mm.

Microfilm of original records at the Registrar General's Department, Spanish Town, Jamaica.

These wills are filed somewhat in the order in which probate was applied for, although some will be found to be out of sequence. The dates on cover sheets can be misleading, e.g. the first will is dated the 17th Feb., 1775, but the cover sheet gives the year as 1725. Due to the varied backgrounds of the settlers of Jamaica, these wills pertain to properties and beneficiaries not only in Jamaica, but also in various parts of Great Britain and the U.S.A..
