About the Center


The Wilmette Illinois Family History Center, located just north of Chicago at 2727 Lake Avenue in Wilmette, Illinois. Location on Map Park in the large lot to the west of the building and enter by buzzing in at the door on the right-hand side as you face the building.

Film Collection

The Center houses a large indefinite loan microfilm collection that includes many Chicago resources including vital records, city directories, and Catholic parish records. The collection is also strong in German, Swedish, and Polish records. Wilmette FHC Film/Fiche Holdings List. (This list was last updated Sep 2011.)


The center is open Tuesday 10 am to 3 pm and 6:30 pm to 9 pm; Wednesday 6:30 pm to 9 pm; Thursday 10 am to 3 pm, and Saturday, 9 am - 1 pm.

During 2011, the Center will be closed on the following days:

December 24 - January 2
