WATH-UPON-DEARNE (All Saints),  a parish, in the union of Rotherham, N. division of the wapentake of Strafforth and Tickhill, W. riding of York; containing, with the township of Brampton-Bierlow, and the chapelries of Nether Hoyland, Swinton, and Wentworth, 8911 inhabitants, of whom 1453 are in Wath township, 5¾ miles (N.) from Rotherham. This parish is bounded by the rivers Dearne and Don.[1]
