Chapelry History
Christ Church, Walmsley, close by the Blackburn road, and very near to Turton, was built by the year 1789 as a chapel of ease, and stood within the civil parish of Bolton le Moors.
For ecclesiastical purposes the chapelry is divided into two districts. At Chapel-Town is the church of St. Ann, rebuilt in 1841 and Christ Church, at Walmsley, was built by 1789. [1]
