Do You Have - Three hours to start your family history research ?
Would you like to begin your Family History? The Family History Center will present an intensive, three-hour, beginner class on Saturday, 23 March 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. The Center is located at 1310 Foothill Drive, Vista, California.
This class is designed for the absolute beginner who would like to learn. Topics will include the basic forms needed to record your family information, the research process or cycle and generally how to organize the information you discover as you find out about your ancestors.
Calling all Family Historians – were your ancestors active in civic affairs? The Family History Center has a class “Using Historical Newspapers “ on Thursday, 28 March 2013 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.

How do I get started?
Our Saturday "Three Hours" classes really are planned for at least a three hour block of your time. The intent is to present the materials from the three Thursday evening beginning classes in one session.

Thursday - Begin your family history with four forms | Four Forms will begin your family history research. This class is for those just beginning to look for their ancestors. It will give you the basic information you need to get started.

Using "FamilyTree" an approach to organizing and recording your genealogy on-line. Our class will deal with accessing the information available and using the program to work with other family members to work on common lines.

- Family History Library Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the Family History Library Catalog.
- Book Room: with a large selection of collected works and "how to" resources.

- FHC Portal: This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.
