FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.

The Vacaville California Family History Center located in Browns Valley on 480 Wrentham Drive, serves all of Vacaville and surrounding areas.  We have about 15 volunteers trained to help many patrons who visit the Center each year.  The Center is dedicated to providing assistance for the family history community in the Solano County area.

  • Tuesday 10am-9pm       
  • Wednesday 10am-3pm, 6pm-9pm     
  • Closed day before Thanksgiving 
  • Closed weeks containing Christmas Day and New Year's Day

Heritage Council

Their collection includes over 6,000 photographs of Solano County, its people, and other areas dating as far back as the 1850's.

National Archives                                                                                                                        Established in 1934 by President Franklin Roosevelt, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the nation's record keeper.                                             

National Genealogical Society                                                                                                         The National Genealogical Society was organized in Washington, DC, in 1903.

UsGenWeb Project
Established in 1996, the website is organized by county and state, and provides you with links to all the state websites which, in turn, provide gateways to the counties.

Land Patent Search                                                                                                                 Provides live access to Federal land conveyance records for the Public Land States, including image access to more than five million Federal land title records issued between 1820 and the present. They also have images related to survey plats and field notes, dating back to 1810.

Land and Record Reference                                                                                                       Provides research tools to locate historic land parcels.
