<br>The Advanced Three-Day Intensive course is offered at the Los Angeles Family History Library that provides advanced training for Family History/Genealogy Research. The classes will run Wednesday thru Friday on the dates given below. This training is designed especially for those who already know the basics of family history/genealogical research and wish to get more advanced training. This course is especially for Family History Consultants, volunteers who work at family history centers, members of the church and nonmembers who wish to improve their family history/genealogical research skills.

Foundation Course or equivalent, in particular:

1. Know how to use the basic data entering features of the record management computer program: Personal Ancestral File (PAF) or another equivalent program.

2. Be acquainted with the New Family History Library Catalog on https://familysearch.org/#form=catalog

3. Be acquainted with www.ancestry.com

If a person does not have the prerequisites, he/she is encouraged to take the "Foundation Course" or the "Three-Day Intensive Course."

About the Los Angeles Family History Library  (LAFHL)

After a two year renovation and addition, the Los Angeles Family History Library reopened 25 October 2010.  Changes include 108 research computers, two training rooms and a conference room.  Two of the new rooms have teleconferencing capabilites.

The library has 6,000 books,  60,000 microfilms  plus 72,000 microfiches.  The church now has an online order process (https://www.familysearch.org/films/) you can use anywhere there is an internet outlet for the microfilm/microfiche not in our inventory

Family history research training is provided to help patrons in their personal searching efforts.  Free parking is provided.
