Anna's logical and methodical approach to genealogy research comes from her training as a scientist and engineer. She earned a BA in Physics with minor in Spanish Literature from the University of California, San Diego  in 1984. Her Spanish language experience has helped in researching Hispanic families in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.   She worked as an engineer for six years before returning to school to earn a PhD in Biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder 1988.

Language Education (Spanish):

Anna's ability to speak, wirte and translate Spanish has helped her research the genealogy of Hispanic families in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. She completed five years of Spanish language training before leaving High School, completed a three week language program in Durango, Mexico, passed a college level language proficiency exam and minored in Spanish Literature.

Genealogy Education:

Anna's first research in historical records was part of her graduate research. She began to apply the research skills from her science training to her own genealogy research. She continued her genealogy studies by reading historic genealogy books, modern genealogy books and articles, attending live and online classes, webinars, live and virtual conferences and genealogical society programs.  She continues to attend classes in her field and to monitor new developments in available record sets, databases, technology and methods.
