Shauna Leggat.jpg

My name is Shauna (Sandberg) Leggat. I was born in Logan Utah, lived ten years in Bountiful, then moved to Whittier, California for my "tweens" and teens.

I have been married for the past 47 years to my sweetheart, Scott Leggat, and we have 6 grown children, and 10 incredibly perfect grandchildren.

I received my BA in Literature from BYU-Hawaii and completed my MLS, Library Science, at East Carolina University, North Carolina. I earned my National Board Certification in Library Science in 2008.

My teaching career spans from 1974-2018 and at retirement I had 42 years of service. Beginning in college I taught English as a Second Language, and in later years taught Middle and High School English, Art, Gifted Education AIG generally and Language Arts specifically, and finished my teaching career as a Children's Librarian. Teaching was in both Virginia and North Carolina.

My talents lie mainly in the fields of art and literature. I love reading, editing, watercolors, quilting, and time with my grandkids.

I've enjoyed many church callings over the years. My favorites have to be Primary President for 13 years where I had a 6 month reprieve to have my 5th child somewhere in the middle. My absolute favorite was teaching Gospel Doctrine which I did both in Culpeper, Virginia, and in Nags Head, North Carolina, for 13 years each. My current calling is Temple and Family History Consultant, and I love this call! I have enjoyed working with 12-18 individuals at any given time, and find most of those I assist through Family Search are non-members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I feel a gift in this calling, and am not afraid to ask my Father in Heaven for the help and assistance I need. I have been richly blessed.

As for the Wiki, I am new to it, and humbly begin this mission with no previous knowledge. I am excited to serve and to meet new people through this Mission. What a wonderful time to be here!
