Jill Kirby Port Louis.JPG Jill K. Kirby This is one of my favourite views of a recent visit November 2015 to Mauritius in the Indian Ocean where I spent 4 weeks researching my 2nd 3rd and 4th Great Grandparents. It was a rich rewarding trip to find my family's connections here from 1791 (French) 1810 (English). I have much to thank Napoleon Bonaparte for, it was during that time of war in Europe that my French 4th Great Grandparents as hugenouts fled France for Mauritius which was at that time called The Isle de France. I love researching my family and have had many amazing experiences from the records I have found. As a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I find it truly testimony strengthening to seek after our ancestors. I was born in Southampton, Hampshire, England where I have also done a great deal of research.
