New Mexico, Marriages, 1751-1918

Marriage records may be used to locate families and open possibilities for further research. Expect indexes to be available to help with your search.

Step 1: Search in for the name of a person that may have married in the state at:  New Mexico, Marriages, 1751-1918 

These records are an extraction of information from the original record. You may want to look at the original record on microfilm to find additional information such as god parents' names.

A marriage record may include:

  • Groom’s Name
  • Bride’s Name
  • Marriage Date
  • Marriage Place
  • Groom’s Father’s Name
  • Groom’s Mother’s Name
  • Bride’s Father’s Name
  • Bride’s Mother’s Name
  • Source Film Number, (for viewing the original record)

Step 2: Search for the couple in census records to link them to their children. Start here:

                                                            United States Census

Census records may include:

  • Names of each person in the home
  • Relation to the head of household
  • Gender

  • Age
  • Birthplace
  • Place of residence
