What steps should be taken to resolve this problem? dsammy 21:08, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Wiki Home Page Does not Represent Wiki Well

The home page (welcome page) is not particularly attractive or impressive. Most of the country home pages are impressive. The main, home, welcome page, however,  is frankly, boring and unimpressive. I would suggest some larger or bolder headings, perhaps a photo or map - something!  The home page is the first line of promotion and interest generation and it fails to do either (in my opinion).

The home page also does not provide phone numbers for FamilySearch Support (Indexing Support, Research Support, FHC Support, Product Support, nFS Support). Nor could I find those phone numbers in Wiki (perhaps they are there and I missed them). The phone numbers (North America and International) are located in nFS Help Center, but that is unavailable to many people needing assistance.  Nor do simple searches like "phone," "contact," "help," "assist," "telephone," or even "FamilySearch") bring up the contact info for FamilySearch.  Unless a link to the email and phone info is on the home page, most people will not find it.

I created a temporary page (see Family Search Support email and telephone contact list) based on what was in the Help Center but it stripped off all the formatting.  Someone with more knowledge than me (not hard!) could do a better job.
