This discussion page is no longer in use. Please use the discussion tab on the FAQ page to make a submission. (Any currently posted issues will be resolved and removed.) The wiki now accepts other observations and questions about the project, not just project update issues.  The new Wiki Presentation will guide you through the process of making submissions and how they will be handled.

[01 Jan 2012]    Project Helps, "Additional Helps" Slide 8 states: "The transferred or cancelled date is indexed in the registration date fields."  Most indexers and arbitrators have apparently been missing this instruction and leaving the entries in the registration date fields unchanged.  As an example, if the registration date field reads "Feb 9 1866" and the cancellation field reads "cancelled Sep 23 1871" I index the registration date entry to read Sep 23 1871 - however, most arbitrators enter it as Feb 9 1866.  The instruction seems to be pretty clear, but it might be buried too deeply in the Project Updates and is getting consistently missed by nearly all indexers and arbitrators.  Am I somehow misunderstanding this instruction?

For Administrator's reference, here are some samples of batches that I have indexed in strict accordance with "Additional Helps" Slide 8

     Film # 005030346     Batch # 155     Single Image

     Film # 005030348     Batch # 196     Single Image

     Film # 005030322     Batch # 74      Single Image

     Film # 005030314     Batch # 353     Split Images

How do you enter the age when the image only shows one number?  I can't enter one digit and a question mark as it will not take.  The image cannot be darkened to show any other digits.  There are several such instances on this project.  It would be confusing to only enter one number because sometimes the first digit is missing and sometimes the second one is missing. Please follow the instructions and enter 1 digit.
