How should London place names be indexed, e.g. Westminster St Annes, Hammersmith St Johns? Should they be indexed as is or listed under the relevant county, e.g. Middlesex Hammersmith? If the response below does not answer your question, please call support with an open batch with this issue.
Why do so many arbitrators mark a child's condition "U" when the space is clearly blank? Pleaese call support when you have a batch open for review.
I understand from the update information that London is to be placed in the birth town and not county field. However, I am finding birth information similar to London, Islington. Should London stand alone in the field, or should I add the additional information? From the updates "City or Town - If there is more than one entry in this field, do not separate them with "or".
Also, is it possible to organize the update information page by field headings? I refer back often and find I have to scroll from the top to refresh my memory on a single poinit. Thank you for considering! Thank you. Other indexers prefer a chronological order so the most recent updates are on the top of the list. We will see if there is some way we could address both wishes.
On the Project Updates tab, the Folio paragraph says to accept a previously entered number or enter the number if it is stamped on the form, otherwise to leave the field blank. The Basic Indexing Instructions for the project suggest trying to determine the folio number from previous or next pages. Which is correct? If the latter, does the folio number on the previous page apply to the current page? Project Updates take precedence over other information.
