Image of the Landskap shield here.

Södermanland, a historic province (a landskap) of Sweden, covers an area west and south of Stockholm. Lake Mälaren forms part of its northern boundry and Baltic Sea makes up the east border.  Södermanland province belongs to Södermanland County.

Often you will see "Södermanland" shortened to "Sörmland" both in print and in speech.
