1875 - Courthouse and most, if not all, county records were destroyed by fire in March 1875.

1892 - Rockwall Courthouse

ROCKWALL, Tex., Jan. 27.---Rockwall courthouse was burned to-day about 2 o'clock. The fire was first discovered in the dome. The books, papers, furniture, etc., were all saved. How the fire started no one knows. The cause is supposed to have been a defective flue. The building was a wooden structure. Loss $4500, insured in the Hartford and Ætna for $3000.
