FamilySearch Record Search This article describes a collection of historical records scheduled to become available at FamilySearch.org.

Record Description

This collection will include records from 1838-1936.

This collection contains court records from various provinces of the Philippines mostly dating from the Spanish Period. These records contain land records, guardianships, wills, powers of attorney and other legal documents. Original records are located in the Record Management and Archives Office, National Library, Metropolitan Manila, Philippines.

Search the Collection

To search the collection you will need to follow this series of links:

⇒ Select the appropriate “Book Number and Years” category which will take you to the images.

Look at each image one by one comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.

General Information About These Records

There are many records, but few are indexed. Court names have changed over the years, and the records use many difficult legal terms and abbreviations. Search court records only after you have searched more helpful records.
