  • Oregon Trail, a 2,000 mile (3,200 km) overland migration route used in the United States from 1841 to 1869, generally following rivers like the Platte, Sweetwater, Snake, Malheur, and Columbia, through Nebraska, Wyoming, over South Pass, through Idaho into Oregon. Much of this route was also used by the California Trail and Mormon Trail.
