Most archives, historical societies, and genealogical societies have special collections and indexes of genealogical value. These must usually be searched in person.

A major collection available at the Family History Library is the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Genealogical Collection (Family History Library films 870048; 913003 and others). This collection contains church records, cemetery tombstone transcriptions, county marriage abstracts, newspaper obituaries, and family Bible records for Nebraska. The main collection consists of 16 films. Six films are listed in the Family History Library Catalog by using the Place Search for NEBRASKA, LANCASTER—VITAL RECORDS.
