History

This jurisdiction became the Ute Mountain Agency in 1915.

Records

Some correspondence, 1908-1914, and a census roll for 1900 for the Navajo Springs Agency are in the National Archives Rocky Mountain Region (Denver).[1]

A 1904 census of the Southern Ute Indians under the supervision of the Navajo Springs Agency is available online.

Microfilm copies of ...Narrative and Statistical Reports... for the Navajo Agency, 1910-1914, are included in National Archives Microcopy M1011, Roll 90[2], available in the National Archives system and in the collections of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City (their microfilm number 1724308).

Annual Indian Census Rolls were taken at this agency for 1909 thru 1914. These rolls have been microfilmed by the National Archives as part of their Microcopy Number M595, roll 282[3].
