History[edit | edit source]

A Catholic parish church was located in Luterbach. The parish covers less than 2 square miles and had a total population of less than 450 people in 1850. After the reformation in the 1500's it formed a parish with Zuchwil. It became an independent parish in 1724. In 1787 the first church was constructed, before this time they had a chapel.
