About the Los Angeles Family History Library (LAFHL)

...One Year Later... Oct 2010 thru Oct 2011

October 2011 concludes the first year of operation since the Library's renovation. We have served 23,138 visitors. We have participated with 6 local groups away from the Library in their family search efforts.

We have added 668 microfilms, taught 7 intensive training courses, and given 98 recurring free training classes.

Microfilm/fiche ordering has increased since the introduction in September 2011 of the new internet ordering site: https://www.familysearch.org/films. Ordering new materials has never been easier, nor as fast.

Local genealogical societies continue to use our facilities for their regular meetings. These include the Jewish, British, Polish Genealogical Societies. And we still have Free Parking.

Many patrons are using their flash drives to save found information and photos in place of printed copies. Every library computer has an installed program that can save whole or cropped screens and pictures.
