I the last half of the 19th century and the first part of the 20th century a lot of people emigrated from Lom to America. The editors of this Bygdebok (farm and genealogical history of Lom, probably 3 volumes, to be published in 2000–2001) whishes information about all persons born in Lom, to be included in the books. We will use the following information: vital years of emigrant and spouse (birth, marriage, death), birth- or homeplace of spouse, place he/she/they settled and som few words about occupation.

Lom clerical district contains parish registers from the parishes Lom, Garmo and Bøverdal. Included the parishes Skjåk and Nordberg until 1864. Records begin in 1733.
