LIVERPOOL (St Catherine) was created a subscription chapel within the boundaries of Liverpool St Nicholas and St Peter parish and was completed by January 1831. It is situated on the east side of Abercromby square. The edifice was built in a classical style consisting of a chancel, nave, aisles and turret with bell. An unusual feature of the church is the handsome dome.
Birth, marriages and deaths were kept by the government, from July 1837 to the present day. The civil registration article tells more about these records. There are several Internet sites with name lists or indexes. A popular site is FreeBMD.
