Ackerley Lake; named for Lafayette C. Ackerley. Came to Florence in the 1880s and took a homestead on North Fork Siuslaw River. Soon after, a brother, Clarence Ackerley and his wife Carried settled nearby. See: Siuslaw Pioneer, 1982.

Adams Mountain; elevation 4955 feet, named for Oscar P. Adams, an early resident of Lane County. Biography in Hines' Illustrated History of the State of Oregon, p. 485. Born in Pennsylvania 1828 and came to Oregon in 1854.
