Kentucky became the 15th state to join the Union on June 1, 1792. Kentucky was created from part of Virginia (District of Kentucky: Fayette, Jefferson, and Lincoln counties)and is located in the east south-central region of the United States.[1]The State has 120 counties. The Capital city is Frankfort. [2]
