Parish History

HEMYOCK (St. Mary), a parish, in the union of Wellington, hundred of Hemyock, Cullompton and N. divisions of Devon, 5 miles (S.) from Wellington. The parish is situated on the river Culm, and comprises 4704 acres, of which 787 are waste land or common. There is a chapel of ease at Culm-Davey. The Baptists and Wesleyans have places of worship.[1]
