Quick History

Wikipedia
Wikipedia has more about this subject: Harrisville, Utah
Several attempts were made to settle the Harrisville area beginning in 1850. Many times, when difficulties arose the settlers moved into Brigham's Fort. After the Johnston's Army concern was resolved, permanent residents returned in the fall of 1858. [1] Harrisville was named after Martin Henderson Harris who had built a log home west of Four Mile Creek. The home of industry, Harrisville manufactured bricks, cheese, and brooms, and even briefly made some silk cloth. In 1871 a small post office was built. By 1875 there was a sawmill and a molasses mill on the banks of Four Mile Creek. [2] On April 9, 1962, Harrisville became an incorporated township. [3]
