GILBERDIKE, a township, in the parish of Eastrington, union of Howden, wapentake of Howdenshire, E. riding of York, 5½ miles (E. by N.) from Howden. It comprises the hamlets of Hive, Sandholme, Owsthorpe, and New Gilberdike. There is a Primitive Methodist chapel here.[1]
