Got a batch here SB # 170321447 where on the first line for the Burial of Paul son of Francis Kirton is listed. For the parent would this be indexed under Father / Mother or just left blank since there is no indication of which parent it is? I know Francis is usually the spelling for the male version of the name but in my mind putting it under father because of this would be assuming. Examples like this I tend to leave blank and there are a few projects where this needs to be addressed in the updates if we are to leave it blank.

Child's Parents

Got a batch here SB # 170321447 where on the first line for the Burial of Paul son of Francis Kirton is listed. For the parent would this be indexed under Father / Mother or just left blank since there is no indication of which parent it is? I know Francis is usually the spelling for the male version of the name but in my mind putting it under father because of this would be assuming. Examples like this I tend to leave blank and there are a few projects where this needs to be addressed in the updates if we are to leave it blank.
