Dead River is a former plantation, now an unorganized territory (township) in the Northwest Somerset townships of Somerset County, Maine. Dead River Plantation was organized from Township 3 R3 WKR in 1865, 1873, 1874, and 1895. The plantation organization was apparently surrendered by 1901 (when it was taxed as wild lands), and since then it has been an unorganized territory.[1]
