Cedar County, Utah was created in 1856[1] from the western part of Utah County.[2] Cedar County was discontinued and its land was divided by Tooele County and Utah County in January 1862.[3]

When Cedar County was dissolved, the records were transferred to Utah County. They were transferred from Utah County to the Utah State Archives in March 2003.[3]
