Parish History

'Buttsbury (St Mary), is a parish in Chelmsford district, Essex; on the river Wid and on the Eastern Counties railway, it is 1 1/2 miles SE of Ingatestone railway station, and 6 1/2 miles SSW of Chelmsford.'[1]
